CAA IndiGo Flying Instructor Program
As we have seen the large airlines in India place huge orders for both narrow-body and wide-body aircraft, the industry has been quick to notice that while these aircraft will be delivered over the next decade, we must be quick to make sure we have the trained workforce to properly utilize these aircraft safely and efficiently.
Considering this huge demand for highly trained pilots, our cadet program partner IndiGo Airlines, recently launched a Flying Instructor Program in collaboration with Chimes Aviation Academy. We are thrilled to roll out this program and look forward to working with IndiGo Airlines to help deliver highly trained pilots who also have expertise in flying instruction.
Eligibility
Preference for this program will be given to current students and graduates of Chimes Aviation, but anyone with a multi engine CPL and a passion for aviation education is welcome to apply. Candidates will have two rounds of interviews as well as an ADAPT test as part of the selection process. We are looking for people who are driven and enjoy helping others fulfill their dreams, while working towards their own. This is a role that will require a high level of maturity and commitment towards aviation as chosen instructors will be responsible for helping Chimes Aviation carry out the IndiGo Cadet program thus directly training future first officers of IndiGo Airlines.
Benefits and Highlights
Once a candidate has been selected for the Flying Instructor Program, all costs to get certified as an instructor will be taken care of, at no cost to the candidate. When a candidate is selected by IndiGo Airlines and successfully signs an LOI with the airlines, they will retain seniority at the airlines from that day forward, ensuring they are securing their future. This LOI will also mean that the candidate will be ensured a job with the airlines as long as they are able to fulfill all the requirements during their time as an instructor.
Instructors will need to build their flying experience up to 2000 hours over the course of their time with Chimes Aviation, and also be responsible for studying for and securing their ATPL while they are instructors to be eligible for moving forward to the post of a JFO at IndiGo Airlines. Once inducted into the airlines as a JFO, candidates will only need to build 500 hours of experience on the Airbus A320 family to be released as a SFO, giving them a clear glidepath towards the left seat.
Summary
This program is a fantastic opportunity for any aspiring pilot to build a direct pathway for themselves to the cockpit of a commercial aircraft, while garnering experience at a rapid pace in a financially responsible manner that would be very difficult to do outside of this program. We at Chimes Aviation truly believe that the commitment that has gone into building this program from IndiGo Airlines as well as from our end, makes this the best possible avenue for an aviation professional to get into IndiGo airlines while lowering costs to the candidate and have them build experience that will allow them to grow at a personal and professional level much faster than they could have done any other way.
