Become a Pilot at CAA
Sky is not the limit; it's just the beginning at Chimes Aviation Academy!
Before you soar the skies, ensure you tick off the prerequisites for a pilot. These include educational backgrounds, age criteria, and specific medical fitness standards set by the country's regulatory authority where you intend to train. For India, it is the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
Set your goals - whether it's obtaining a Private Pilot License (PPL) or a Commercial Pilot License (CPL). You need to see the program that best fits your requirements to earn your license. CAA provides many ab initio programs to earn a PPL or CPL.
One of the most crucial items in your Pilot journey, the Computer Number, is a unique identifier assigned by DGCA for registering for DGCA examinations and any correspondence with the Central Examination Office, DGCA. The application process for this number can take over a month, and assembling documentation per DGCA's strict guidelines can be time-consuming. Students must have the necessary documentation or a valid Computer Number while applying to CAA.
Fill in the Application form on CAA’s website. Updates on application dates are shared on Social Media, Website, and email newsletters. The detailed application form will require your details, such as educational qualifications, Medical Examination certificate, and other essential documentation.
When you proceed to the next stage, depending on the program you apply for, you will be invited to the Ground School in Gurgaon, Haryana, to take the ADAPT test for further evaluation. The last stage to clear would be an interview with the CAA admission panel and Group Discussions. Once you clear the Application Process, you will be given the reporting date for induction into the Ground School.
A strong foundation is crucial. Dive deep into the theoretical aspects of flying and prepare for DGCA exams. You will learn about Air Regulations, Navigation, and more during this phase. At CAA, completing this training and passing your DGCA examinations would take 6-8 months.
Embark on the practical side of your aviation journey with hands-on experience inside the cockpit. Under the guidance of our seasoned flight instructors, you'll navigate through real-world scenarios, ensuring a holistic learning experience that goes beyond the textbooks. Our courses are designed to mould you into a skilled pilot, well-prepared to face any challenge the skies might present.
While the DGCA has its requirements for flight hours, at CAA, we emphasize the depth and breadth of each hour you spend airborne. It's not just about logging hours; it's about making each minute count. For CPL flying training, you will complete your training in approximately a 12-month training cycle, which ensures that you experience and navigate the diverse climatic conditions of India. This comprehensive exposure to Indian meteorological conditions prepares our cadets to be pilots and masters of the Indian skies.
The check rides prove your proficiency and skill as a culmination of your training. Facilitated by certified examiners, this assessment evaluates both your theoretical knowledge and practical flying ability. Success here means you've met the DGCA's standards and upheld CAA's tradition of excellence.
After completing your training and meeting DGCA's requirements, you will finally earn your pilot license. This license is a testament to your skills and a badge of honour, reflecting your premier training at Chimes Aviation Academy.
Remember, being a pilot is not just about flying. It's a commitment, a passion, and a lifestyle. Keep learning, keep updating, and always aim for the sky.
